This is one of the largest kits that we sell. It covers a lot of different things that you are going to need for first aid in the field. It comes with a big bag and a lot of different things. The majority of the time we're running into small things. We're getting stuff in the dog's eyes, getting stuff in their nose, stuff in their paws, skin tears, that type of basic stuff. But occasionally you are going to run into something serious. I've had a couple of dogs get cut pretty bad in the field and we had to get them to a vet as quickly as possible. But having the right gear made a difference in that dog surviving the trip from the field to the vet. So, take some time. Learn how to use these tools. Make sure you've got everything that you need before you take your dog out in the field. One thing I like to point out for folks, I travel a lot with my dogs. And when I'm in the field, especially when I'm in different states, one of the first things that I do is I find the closest vet to me. At times it's been up to 100 miles. But it helps to know where they are in case you have an emergency instead of trying to figure that out while you're dog is bleeding to death. It helps to know where they are. So that's one of those things that I do when I'm in the field just so that in case we have emergency we can get to them awfully fast. This is one of my favorite kits. It's got a lot of different parts to it. It covers a lot of different things. It will help you protect your dog in the field. Steve Snell

Med kit
November 21, 2025
If you hunt in remote areas you need med kit for you and your pup. Didn't need to use it this year. Hopefully, never. Looks like it has enough stuff to answer the call.

Ready Dog Professional Canine First Aid / Trauma Kit
October 18, 2023
Haven't used the First Aid/Trama Kit yet and hope it never becomes necessary! I looked through the kit and it seems very comprehensive and includes all of the medical supplies I wanted in the event of a serious field injury with one of my dogs. I'm happy with the product and feel better going into the field this fall knowing that it is on the truck and at the ready, if needed. Thank you,

Great kit
June 22, 2023
Got the kit a couple weeks ago. It has a great formula in it for odor removal and it came in very handy when my dog got sprayed by a skunk yesterday. It was great to have a quick guide to help out in a smelly and stressful situation. Hope I never have to use any of the serious stuff on my dog but better safe than sorry. Highly recommend it if you have a dog that means a lot to you like mine means to me.

I hope I never have to use this, but it is a long overdue item in my truck. I went with Steves Pick as he has never lead me astray. Sorry to all the rest, but Gun Dog Supply is all I will ever need.

Canine First Aid Kit
February 15, 2022
This first aid kit fits my needs. With four hunting dogs it is a necessity when you're in the field. Before purchasing, several injuries made it a very essential of our gear. You never want to have to use it, but when you do this is a great choice for your hunting partners if they do get an injury. Thanks Steve Snell and Gun Dog Supply!

I needed a good emergency kit for my new pup and looked around a bunch. My vet confirmed this was a good kit and liked the contents. I am adding other things also but this kit has the majority of what I need.

Great quality kit
December 13, 2020
Great kit. It has more than I hope I'll ever need. I brought it to my vet to get educated on how to use some of the items and my vet was impressed with the kit also. The peroxide came in handy when my dog got sprayed by a skunk in the field. I would recommend putting a small measured amount of baking soda and dish soap in the kit to have the complete skunk solution handy. Hair shaving clippers and a probe thermometer would be the only additional things I'd think this kit needs to be considered complete.

Peace of mind on remote hunts
September 25, 2020
I bought the Ready Dog Pro First Aid kit for backcountry preparedness. Has everything you need and nothing you don't Peace of mind is important to me. We hunt Maine's remote areas where it is hours on rough logging roads to the nearest vet. Self-sufficiency in any situation is important. I carry a comprehensive first aid kit in my truck for myself and pals. I wanted the same insurance for the dog. I added a needle nose pliers and 2 inch vet wrap to complement the forceps and 4 inch wrap in the kit to aid in removing porcupine quills. We are good to go. P.S. I hope I never have to use this kit.

September 3, 2020
This kit looks like it has most of what you would need for most small emergencies, the only thing I would add would be antihistamine tablets and how to use them with different events like snake bites or allergic reaction to something that was ingested

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. The first aid kit was way more than what I expected. The first aid book is laid out so it's a no brainer. Explains so one can understand what to do or what not to do.

Review for Ready Dog Professional Canine First Aid / Trauma Kit
October 7, 2016
I returned it simply because I wanted something that would be more geared towards an emergency such as trauma. I already keep a bug out bag in my truck which has a lot of general first aid supplies in it. Would have liked to see at least one tourniquet and more blood-clotting agents like the CELOX. I ended up putting together a very small kit for my hunting coat that would help me get back to the truck should something bad happen in the field. It's actually a pretty good general first aid kit but just not quite what I needed.
