Now this lead right here is one of, if not my favorite product that RPM makes. When we started using this, it was really for either hunting or hunt test type situations because it's short, it's small and convenient, and we can put it away in our pocket and it gets out of the way. But what we've used it for recently is when we send clients home with dogs that have worked on obedience, this is a great tool while working on specifically heel. That short lead provides little room for error and not let your dog get too far ahead or too far behind you. It's just a great fit. So whether you're in the field, in a competing situation, or at home working on obedience, this is a great tool all the way around.

This is a nice cord to use at tests and trails. It fits easily in your pocket, easy to stow before you leave the holding blind. It won't take up much room in your hunting bag either. The diameter of the material gets your dog's attention too.

collar works as I have planned to use it. only reason for 4 stars, the lead is not as flexible as I thought it would be. It is stiff, somewhat rigid. I make a figure 8 and place on muzzle. Worked better than pinch collar. Wish it was more pliable.

The BioThane Slip Lead is a great product. My 6 month old lab is much more easily controlled and is learning the 'heel' command nicely. So much easier to use than a choke collar. Gun Dog Supply is also a great company to work with; they got the product out in great time.

Love this lead. The material it is made of is much easier on the hands than a traditional fabric type of leash. This in itself makes teaching a dog to heel or not pull way less frustrating. I had been using martingale collars on both out boys, and heel work was going okay, but not great. This lead has really helped them to be more aware of pressure on / pressure off and therefore more responsive. I also love that it is a short lead. I always had to wrap the regular leash around my hand to shorten it for heel work, which would eventually lead to it getting tighter and tighter on my hand. If you are having trouble with your dog pulling or just want to tighten up your dogs heel work, this is the ticket!

Perfect safety and training product when you want your dog close. Quick on/off with dog in complete control of slip. My dog has HATED a leash more than any dog I've ever known. She heels beautifully without but even at 1.5 years really objects to being put on leash. This can be an issue when traveling, going to vet, or in a new area with busy roads. Problem solved with this leash. It sits loose and light way down around her shoulders until she pulls. Perfect for a dog that already heels nicely or one that you are trying to train to stay very close. I love it and she loves it...a win/win!
