    The SportDOG's SDF-100C Rechargeable In-Ground Fence System is great for large yards and powered for up to 100 acres. It is safe and effective for all dogs over 8 pounds, and the SportDOG Rechargeable In-Ground Fence System delivers mild corrections through two contact points on the collar that touch your dog's neck. If your dog crosses the established boundary, a correction will be sent to get your dog's attention, but will not harm him. You can customize the level of correction to match your dog's temperament, and the adjustable collar allows you to create a perfect fit for your dog.

Good Product and Support

I bought this from Gun Dog Supply because of their great support and product knowledge. I've bought other items from them with great support, that is the reason I always buy from them.

I replaced an old in ground fence that served us well, but finally was dying. I installed the SportDog by using the existing loop wire from our old system. I started getting intermittent broken loop alarms. I called Gun Dog Supply and after trying a few things, they offered to get SportDog support involved. SportDog called and offered some advice and added my details to their records and said to call if I still have issues. I changed a connection in the loop wire and the system has been working for 48 hrs without alarming. Hopefully this is resolved.
Pros
  • Gun Dog Supply is fantastic to work with. I know they have my back if I have issues.
  • SportDog system has a nice collar that is rechargeable, has multiple stimulation modes... vibrate and tone only, and vibrate,tone and multiple stim levels.
  • One big plus is the collar battery is replaceable My old system was rechargeable, but not replaceable, so I had to buy a new collar when the battery died. When that collar died, replacement collars weren't available. So my only option was to buy a new system.
Cons
  • The only one is the intermittent loop error. That may or may not be an issue with the system. I need to test it longer.

This is an excellent device. It wasn't difficult to set up and the directions for training the dogs were easy to understand. It's been working great with our German Shorthaired Pointers. The best part is that it shipped the same day we ordered it, and it arrives the next day! I know we reside in the same state as Gun Dog Supply, so that may have been part of the short shipping time. But we're very satisfied with our purchase and would use GDS again if needed.

  • Our dogs are contained, and love when we put them the collars on them.
