Features a scissor snap that allows quick release and easy attachment of the collar.
Herm Sprenger German made steel. Very strong. Excellent for teaching heel, sit, stay, whoa, etc. Proper fit is achieved by adding or removing links. Just snap them in or out.
We prefer the steel "pinch" type dog training collars to choke chains as we have found their use to result in easier and faster training for both the dog and the trainer. We suggest that teaching "heel" is a good place to start with the pinch collar.
First adjust the collar by removing links or adding lengths to get a "good" fit - a fit where the dog will be comfortable when he is in the proper position but will become uncomfortable when he gets out of position. If the dog is wearing a regular collar, place the pinch collar in front of the regular collar and check frequently to be sure the pinch collar is not hanging up on the regular collar. We suggest keeping the pinch collar low on the dog's neck and walking at a slow but steady pace the first few sessions using a large (25' - 30') circular, figure 8, or box pattern. After several sessions, you should be able to progress to a varied pace, and quicker and sharper turns and stops. Placing the pinch collar higher on the dog's neck usually causes more discomfort and a better response in dogs that have not responded after several sessions. Also, a collar with smaller diameter prongs will usually elicit a better response for dogs that have been slow in responding.
We have found the springer pinch collar to be especially useful in teaching "heel", "sit", "whoa", "stay", and "here". Our own view is that choke chains and pinch collars should not be used on pups under six months of age. These collars should only be during training sessions and should NEVER be left on unattended dogs.

This changed my life. It took my German/Australian Shepherd Axel about two days to totally get it. I had tried three different harnesses, the gentle leader and traditional chokes. Nothing worked for this guy. And once I did my research, I was sold. Sometimes our working guys and gals need a different language. I have a perfect dog on the walk who's not choking himself. People ask me how he's so well-trained at two. Highly recommended. We're both happier for it! Thanks Steve and crew.

"This collar is high-quality and reasonably priced."
This collar is high-quality and reasonably priced. My dog's trainer is an ex-Marine with years of canine experience. He recommended the Herm Sprenger collar to help control and train my large, aggressive dog. It has made a huge difference in the way my dog responds to obedience training.

I needed a new training collar to replace a Large that fell off of one of the dogs in the park. I chose this larger prong collar for my GSD, who has a heavy ruff year-round. He is more confident and responsive, and I am able to be more subtle on my end of the leash. Thanks!

"Delivery is prompt, and the products are excellent quality."
I have an 8 month old Belgian Malinois. This item was requested by her trainer. He wanted a 4 ml, easy to find, but we also wanted one that I could get on and off easily. Your 3.8 was the closest I could get with quick release. He was also particular about this brand. We are both extremely pleased with it.

"This collar is quick to place on the dog, and even quicker to remove."
This collar is quick to place on the dog, and even quicker to remove. With this collar in place, Rascal is a gentleman. He walks at heel without any issues. Now if it starts to really sink in, I'll be much better off. Best of all, it does not choke him like a common choke chain. Looks medieval, but is truly a modern tool to make life for man and beast much better.
