Great lead

I bought this for our new Brittany pup. We hired a trainer to give us some puppy training tips. They suggested we leave a slip lead on her at all times. Both for corrections and so it helps her get passed the puppy biting on the leash. This BioThane leash is perfect because it's easy to clean and does not fray from being dragged around. I highly recommend this lead!

Salt Water Friendly

Purchased two to use as leashes with our young Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, especially around the boat and ocean water. Really wanted something that would not hold odor as several other rope leads purchased elsewhere acquired a horrible mildew smell and had to be discarded. The bright colors standout well and do not fade. The material feels nice and is comfortable to grip. Also, at the 8 foot length and in the round, the lead works well to figure eight and control pulling on walks. Our dogs are family pets and not trained as well as they should be but these leads are certainly helping us work on obedience. Fast shipping.

  • The material is super durable, standing up well to both the elements including some chlorinated pool water as well as salt water as well as to chewing.
Cons
  • Purchased two and the snap that controls the collar diameter is a little looser on one than the other and it slides which may be a problem (dog dipping head out) if you are lax with the leash.

works well, not what I expected

collar works as I have planned to use it. only reason for 4 stars, the lead is not as flexible as I thought it would be. It is stiff, somewhat rigid. I make a figure 8 and place on muzzle. Worked better than pinch collar. Wish it was more pliable.

The BioThane Slip Lead is a great product. My 6 month old lab is much more easily controlled and is learning the 'heel' command nicely. So much easier to use than a choke collar. Gun Dog Supply is also a great company to work with; they got the product out in great time.

My dog trainer gave us a slip lead similar to this when we started training her. I loved it so much that I needed to get another. I have a few other slip leads because they are fantastic to use but this one is my favorite. It is easy to clean after she plays in the mud. I love the quality of it as well.
