Smaller version works better than the large

I bought both the large and small versions of the dog bells to fit my corresponding dogs. They are not hunting dogs, but I bought the bells to keep track of their whereabouts while hiking in the woods. Both bells are well made and sturdy, but I found the nylon loop attached to the large bell to be difficult to slip onto the dog's collar. When it was attached, I felt the large bell hung down a little too far. The small bell did not have a nylon loop, but I simply attached the bell to the collar via a metal clip. Also, I found the large bell harder to hear than the small bell at longer distances (seems counter-intuitive, but that was the case). I will probably get another small bell and use the large bell for a handsome Christmas decoration.

Seems to be well made and certainly makes my little cur girl easier to find in the woods. She doesn't seem to mind it at all. She gets excited to put it on because she knows she gets to go outside and run.

Works great. I live in Kansas and use the bell when hunting thick cover and need to know where my dog is at all times. I like the tone because it's not to overbearing but can be heard on a windy Kansas day.
