COLLAR SIZING MADE EASY
These are NECK SIZE COLLARS which means the dog's measured neck size IS the collar size.
Measure Your Dog's Neck to ensure a proper fit.
Use a measuring tape, cloth tape, or a piece of string (and measure the string).
Measure your dog's neck where you want the collar to rest on the neck AND at the appropriate tightness.
Once you have a measurement, refer to the Guide below to find the appropriate size.
The neck size (NS) represents the measurement from the center of the buckle to the second adjustment hole.
You can adjust 1-inch longer or 3-inches shorter. Keep in mind that using the shorter adjustment holes will leave more collar strap extending past the buckle.
We're looking at our TufFlex collars. We're going to show you three different kinds of collars that we have.
This is probably the most common collar that we sell. It's called the Standard. It looks a lot like a man's belt. Pretty simple design, D-ring, collar goes through.
We have a similar product, but this is a center ring. Has the same buckle, same D, but you've got your safety center ring here in the middle. A lot of folks like this because they've got a D to attach their leash to, but they've also got a center ring if they want access to that. So, pretty popular, especially for folks that are going to have their dogs on a leash or on a chain at any point.
The collar that I use the most is the D-end collar. Occasionally we'll get folks that will get these and they are a little confused about them because they expect the D to be in a different spot. But it's called a D-end for a reason. The D is on the end. So when you are putting the collar in you go through the D first and then you go through the buckle.
What this does is it puts more material between the D. So you've got this to pull on right in here, but you've also got this additional piece, and it takes pressure off of the D. So this is the strongest of the collars that we sell. The majority of my dogs wear D-end collars.
This is TufFlex. Real popular material that we sell for folks that like the look and feel of leather but don't want the hassle of having to care for leather. What's great about TufFlex, it is a synthetic material. It's over a piece of nylon. And it looks and feels like leather. But the advantage is it doesn't pick up smells. It's great in the water. You just don't have to care for it in the way you have to care for leather. They are going to hold up for you for a long time. Really nice collar. Very popular.
"Despite daily swimming, frequent rolling in mud (followed by washing), being taken off and put back on at least four times per day, used for a trolley tie out as many times per day and being used to restrain a lunging 80 pound dog at sporting events, it still looks, smells and fits like a brand new collar."
My dog has been wearing this collar for over a year. Despite daily swimming, frequent rolling in mud (followed by washing), being taken off and put back on at least four times per day, used for a trolley tie out as many times per day and being used to restrain a lunging 80 pound dog at sporting events, it still looks, smells and fits like a brand new collar. The collar is soft and pliable, yet strong (very, very strong). The hardware is top notch. It's a darn good looking collar at any price, but $9.95 is just an incredible bargain. The collar will probably never stink, stretch, fade or otherwise wear out. It also does not break my dog's hair or aggravate his allergies. We went through a lot of very expensive collars before this one. It put them all to shame.
Like everything I have purchased from Gun Dog Supply, this collar exceeded my expectations.

"My dogs are constantly on the go, running through the woods, swimming in our pond, and getting into the mud. This is the first collar I have found that can withstand these conditions."
These collars are excellent! Doesn't pull dog's fur, fits well, easy to clean, and the added name plates are very useful and look great. Not an intentional feature, but the D ring gently clinks against the buckle as my dogs walk, making it very hard for them to sneak up on animals, and easier for me to keep an eye on them. Bonus for me!

These collars are the best!! Comfortable, durable, bright, waterproof, easy to clean. We replaced them after a year of continual wear due to a bit of fading, but still in excellent condition. The riveted ID also a great bonus.

These collars are my favorite, and we've been through lots of different collars! I have them on all 3 of our dogs. They look good. The dogs seem to think they are comfortable. They are very durable and maintenance-free. I like the dark colors best, because 2 of our dogs spend a lot of time outside, and the lighter colors do show dirt more. They can be easily cleaned, but I like to keep it simple.

Awesome collar. Runs smaller than I thought it would be. 16in in this collar was tighter on my dog than 16in on a nylon collar. I had to exchange for a bigger size. But this collar is worth it. Great quality and great customer service.

"Collar is very durable, and has been in and out of the water several times."
Had to trim about an inch off the end, but that is most likely my fault for ordering on the large side. Collar is very durable, and has been in and out of the water several times. Would be nice if name plate matched the silver hardware.

Could not have asked for a better collar!! Very well constructed. Soft, flexible; and love the orange color. Really stands out on Rusty's white coat. The ID tag is a great touch and much nicer than a hanging tag that is constantly clanking as the dog moves around the house. Would definitely recommend this for those who want a great alternative to leather.

This seems to be a very good collar for my standard poodle. She is just 2 years old. She was able to break the clasp on the last collar, but it seems that she is doing very well with this one. I like the brass nameplate. The black collar looks very nice with her apricot color. I would highly recommend it.

My only problem with the collar is that buckle and the D-ring hit and they make noise. I like quiet collars, that is why I like the name tag you get with these collars as you don't hear the dog coming from a mile away. I should have purchased the other style. I do like the Tufflex collars as they are easy to clean and don't smell.
