Display

The display menu allows you to change your screen power saver settings. Highlight the word "Display" and press the right arrow key.

Light Dim

The first choice in the Display Menu is Light Dim. The Light Dim setting is the amount of time that the screen "backlight" will stay on after a button has been pressed. Use the right arrow key to select between 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds and NO. The back light will automatically dim after the selected time has passed since a button has been pressed. When you press any button the screen will return to the normal back light setting and will remain on until it sits idle for the the alotted time again. If you select "No," the back light will stay on as long as the handheld is turned on. The main drain on the handheld battery is the "back light." Leaving it on all the time will greatly reduce the life of the handheld battery charge.

Power Off

The Power Off feature allows you to set the handheld unit to cut off when it has gone a certain amount of time with no buttons being pressed. This feature is designed to conserve battery life when you are not using the handheld and forget to power it down. Highlight the word "Power Off" and use the right arrow to select between 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours and No.

View Points

The next option is View Points. This allows you the choice of showing your "way points" and "starting location" in the tracking screen. You can choose between showing all way points - ALL, Starting location only - START, no way points or starting location - NONE. If you choose not to view your way points or stating location in the tracking screen you can still view them in the compass screen.
