My Dogs

The My Dogs section allows you to make an independent custom profile for each of your dogs. This option allows you to have different settings for each dog with different stimulation types, levels, tone, vibration, and preset levels. You can also pick between the low, medium and high stim collar options for dogs that have totally different sensitivity. Highlight the word "My Dogs" and press the right arrow key. The My Dogs screen will start out with "ADD A DOG" and "DOG 1."

Add a Dog

To add additional dogs to your system, highlight the words "Add a Dog" and press the right arrow key. This will add the next dog to your list. The system will automatically name it "Dog" plus the next number in the list and take you into the Dog Screen. From here you can change the name of the dog.

Change Name

To change the dog's name, highlight the words "Change Name" and select the right arrow key. This will take you to the Alphabet screen.

To clear off the automatic "Dog" name use the Arrow key pad to highlight the Clr button and press the lower right side button. This will clear the name. Move around on the letter list with the arrow keypad to select the first letter you need for your dogs name. When you move over a letter it will be highlighted. Once you get to the letter you need, use the lower right side button to select it. The selected letter will appear in the box at the bottom of the screen. Use the arrow key to select the next letter. To change from capital letters to small letter, click the Aa button. If you need to delete a letter, use the Del key or use the Clr key to clear all and start over.

Once you have finished naming your dog, select the "return" key and press the right side bottom button to return to the Dog Screen.

To add any additional information to your Dog's profile, you must first assign a COLLAR to your dog. If you are adding a additional collar to your system, you should first go to the My Collars section and add the new collar.

We will cover how to edit your dog's profile on DOG 1:

Change Name

Your first dog will already come in the system set up as Dog 1 and he will be assigned to the Blue Collar. Highlight "Dog 1" and press the right arrow key. The first option is to CHANGE NAME.

E-Collar

If your system came with the ecollar option, this should be set to Y for Yes. If you need to turn off the ecollar portion simply highlight the word "E-collar" and press the arrow key to the right changing it to E-COLLAR: N. Press the arrow key to the right to change it back.

Stim Buttons

The Stim Buttons section allows you the option of setting the 3 left side stimulation buttons in the order that you prefer. The system will automatically come out of the box set as Side Button 1 - Continuous, Side Button 2 - Tone and Side Button 3 - Vibration.

To edit these settings, highlight the word "STIM Button" and press the arrow key to the right. The Button pop up screen will appear. Select Button 1 and press the arrow key to the right. Your button choices will be C, T, V, M, R, P1, and P2.

C - Continuous Stimulation - Continuous stimulation stays on as long as you hold down the button. It has an automatic safety cut off at 10 seconds. If you time out the stimulation, simply release the button and press it again.

T - Tone - Tone is a quiet beeping sound at the collar. It can be used as a warning tone or to teach silent commands.

V - Vibration - Vibration is like a pager. The dog will feel the vibration at the collar and it can be used as a warning or to teach silent commands.

M - Momentary Stimulation - Momentary Stimulation is a quick preset nick of stimulation. Momentary only lasts a fraction of a second no matter how long you hold down the button.

R - Rising Stimulation - Rising Stimulation starts out at a low level and increases as long as you hold the button down. Rising Stimulation will start out at the base level you have your transmitter set on and increase until you release the button. Rising stim also has an automatic safety cut off after 10 seconds.

P1 - Preset 1 - The Preset button option allows you to set the button on any stimulation level that you want. Preset buttons use continuous stimulation.

P2 - Preset 2 - Just like P1, P2 allows you a second button that you can preset the level for continuous stimulation.

Use the right arrow key to scroll through the choices. Once you have reached the button setting you want, use the down arrow key to move to the second button and the third.

If you choose to use either of the Preset stim levels you must select the level after you selected P1 or P2. Use the down arrow key to highlight P1 Level. Use the right arrow to highlight the stimulation level number. Use the up and down arrow key to pick the level. Use the left arrow key to select the number. If you are using P2 also, use the down arrow to highlight P2 Level and repeat.

Once you have set up all three buttons, use the left arrow key to return to the Dog Profile.

Stim Range

The Tek Ecollar comes with three stimulation range intensity choices. Low, Medium and High. This intensity range level is independent of the universal stimulation levels and allows you the option of fine tuning the stimulation based on the sensitivity (or lack there of) based on your dog's needs.

This option is designed so you can use the same level on different dogs but the intensity of that level will be different based on the Stimulation Range setting of the collar. For example, a 20 on a low stim collar will be less than a 20 on a Medium Stim Collar. A High Stim 20 will be substantially higher than a low or medium 20.

The Tek E-collars will come automatically set in the Medium Stim Mode.

To change the STIM RANGE setting, highlight the word Stim Range and press the right arrow key. Once you have picked the level you want, use the down arrow to move to the next option.

Please note that STIM RANGE is the collar intensity setting. It has nothing to do with the distance that the Ecollar will work or the distance that the GPS collar will track.

Collar

The collar choice allows you to assign a different color tracking / training collar to the individual dog. This is where you can set up different profiles for each dog that you have and then change them depending on which dog is wearing the collar. To change the color of a dogs collar, you must have first entered the new color into the "My Collars" section and paired it to the collar. To change the color that is assigned to your dogs profile, highlight the word "Collar" and press the right arrow key. This screen will show all the collar colors that have been added in the MY COLLARS section. Use the up and down arrow keys to select the color you want and then press the right arrow key to select. If the color you select is already assigned to another dog, you will get a warning message that tells you the color is being used with another dog and asks if you want to change it. Please note that the collars must be "Paired" to the right color for it to work. You can add a color and assign it to a dogs profile, but if you have not paired it to a collar it will not work.

Delete

To remove a Dog Profile from your system highlight the word "DELETE" and press the right arrow key. You will go to a warning screen that will tell you that this action cannot be undone. Only delete a dogs profile if you want to completely remove it from your system. Use the up and down arrow key to select "Yes" or "No."
