This e-unit offers world class fine-tuning capabilities (modes/levels) on the stimulation side. Add to that a bark limiter and the beeper and you’ve got the whole package. The handheld device is light, smoothly contoured, easy to slip in and out of various pockets if you don’t use the holster. I always introduce the beeper to a young dog with tape covering the sound horn to reduce volume. Pairing the beeper to be controlled using the 550 unit was a bit tricky but that’s likely me, and once accomplished works fine.
As part of the package Robin Macfarlane’s basic e-training disk was a nice add-on and one can invariably pick up good info here regardless of experience with e-trainers. Very well done on her part. A pleasant surprise was the included light nylon training lead.This has become my new check cord. It’s a good length, slides smoothly through rough cover and is perfect for a pup or young dog.

So far I am perfectly pleased with this collar; I’ve been using it for two weeks with a 10 month GSP.

The use of the collar has helped simplify the training process by giving a reminder of a command to my dog, especially when at a distance. Quick delivery, and simple product to use. The included DVD helps with basic training and understanding for quick application and use.

I purchased this several months ago and waited until after hunting several times before writing this review. My previous systems were the DT system and Dogtra. The Garmin is hands down the best collars I have used (other than the price). The range is excellent, and both of my dogs respond well to the light stimulation as compared to other collars. The upland beepers work excellent and would be a good stand alone beeper for people not looking to spend that much on the full setup. My only dislike is the fact that the transmitter does not come with a lanyard. This may seem insignificant but on several occasions I have dropped the transmitter while hunting.

This a great product, I'm very happy with its performance so far. I only thing I change is the charging system there is no need for connecting three different attachments to be able to charge the unit.

The ability to fine tune the stimulation is fantastic. The tone volume on the collar needs to be louder.
