Features:
  • Breathable to allow air to flow in and around the wound area, reducing moisture and keeping the wound area dryer and cooler
  • Restricts licking or chewing at wounds
  • Elastic sides expand to cover a bandage or cast
  • Anti-slip PVC traction pad for use inside the house and limited use outdoors
  • Interior foam pads help hold the boot in place and provide comfort
  • Wide top expands to easily slip your dog's paw into the boot
  • Long velcro straps with closures at the front and back
  • Includes a disposable Wrap Boot to pull over the Wound Boot when outdoors to keep the boot dry and clean
  • Three sizes to fit small to very large dogs

    Sizing Information: Sizes for a bandaged paw: If your dog is wearing a bandage, wrap, or cast, use a soft tape measure and measure around the bulkiest/widest area of the bandaged paw.

    Small -- circumference range of 4 1/2" to 6 1/2"
    Medium -- circumference range of 6 1/2" to 9 1/2"
    Large -- circumference range of 7 1/2" to 11"

    Sizes for a non-bandaged paw: Press your dog's foot down against the ground to mimic how your dog's foot spreads while walking and measure the distance across the width of your dog's foot.

    Small -- paw width 1 1/4" to 1 3/4"
    Medium -- paw width 2 1/4" to 2 3/4"
    Large -- paw width 3 1/4" to 4"

    Cleaning Instructions: Loosely fasten velcro closures, wash in cold water on delicate cycle, hang to air dry.

    Note: Not recommended for dogs that drag their paws. Keep your dog's nails trimmed to avoid puncture.

    Our dog chewed it apart

    Looked like a good well made product. But our mixed breed rescue chewed both straps off rendering the boot useless. He really didn't like it on his paw. Certainly not a defect, but disappointing it didn't last long.

    Having trouble keeping them on my dogs feet. Not the easiest to put on. The Velcro gets stuck on everything and picks up a lot of trash. I wish they came with buckles or snaps.

    Our Redbone injured her left paw which required a toe amputation. The wound would not heal; we kept it clean and bandaged, but the gravel driveway grated on her pad. Viola!! We found this wound boot and she is well on her way to recovery. Perfect application, quality and results!

    Purchased for a Doberman rescue I support. Dog had to have surgery to remove an infected toe (a pre rescue condition). Persons in charge of his aftercare say these wound boots are better than any other shoe/boot they've tried. The boots' breathability + durability are huge plusses for proper healing.

    Difficult to find boots that the dog cannot find a way to remove. These definitely work. I love that they are open to allow air to get to the wound, definitely speeds up healing. The wraps at the top are somewhat difficult to manage, so we just wrap vet wrap around the top to secure the boot. Expensive but worth it.

    I was told about Gun Dog Supply by my son Brant. I went online and ordered the boot for my lab Sooy. I ordered two for both hind legs and they arrived (with instructions) in a few days. They worked fine and after some awkward moments, Sooy adjusted to them. She did not try to get them off and they prevented her from licking her wounds. They worked great and now they are part of our travelling kit. Thanks.
